Global Warming:
How many of you think you are putting in your best effort to make this Earth a better place? If Global Warming continues like this can you imagine your future? Wake Up People! So far there are only a few holes in the ozone layer but if it continues like this, I can’t even imagine! I’m an outdoor person but now I am afraid to go out in the sun because it can hurt my skin. My cousin’s whose favorite dish is chicken is now afraid to eat chicken because they found one with cancer. While in the car, I don’t lower my window because who knows how much harmful gas has taken place of the fresh and sweet air that once surrounded us. When I grow up, one of the things I want to do is become a tennis player but with the ozone layer ripped up I’m starting to lay my doubts on it. This ignorant action is leading us to nowhere except for the fact many people in this world might end up losing their future. Losing your dreams, your future is more important then losing your shares in a stock market or losing any election in this world.
One thing I don’t understand, for eg. when you pollute, YOU breathe the harmful gasses, YOU make holes in the ozone layer and YOU might harm YOUR skin when you go in the sun. When this all happens, I don’t think anybody but you YOURSELF is to take the blame. So why? Why? Do you want to hurt yourself? What are you going to gain from this??
Micro-Sized Solutions:
The problem is already considerably extensive but even then you can minimize the amount of damage. When you lie, you still know that it is never too late to tell the truth. Similarly, no mater how sizable the problem seems, you can still minimize the effects..Its never too late. I’m not asking you for the solutions. You don’t have the solutions and neither do I. I know you can’t fix in the holes in the ozone layer. You can’t bring back the species that are now extinct. You don’t know how to bring back the rare plants that once were on Earth. You don’t know how to make the dried up river flow with fresh water again. I know you can’t do this but you CAN do some other things. If you turn off the lights when you see them flickering and not in use, you save electricity. When you close the loose tap you save water. When you make good use of paper (not rip it up) use the space thoroughly, you save paper. If you recycle you save material! These are small things which are practical, reasonable and you can do them everyday! If you really care for the Earth, you WILL spare like what 2 seconds out of 24 hours? Does it kill you to do so? Does it really waste your time when you turn off a light that is not being used? These are small things which CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Just how water droplets make a sea, our small efforts can help the Earth be a better place. It’s all your choice. But if you still can’t do that then please, stop breaking it.
Clean Earth?:

Come on everyone! I’m not asking you to invent the world’s most complicated piece of technology. I just want you to be aware of what your doing. If you see a light that isn’t being used turn it off! It isn’t rocket science, nor does it take half your day! Our ancestors left Earth in such a neat condition and depended upon us to take care of it. Are we? My sister once asked me, “Didi, the Earth takes such good care of us! We take good care of the Earth too. Right?” I didn’t know what to say. I was speechless. Do you think causing pollution, global warming, holes in the ozone layer, killing animals, cutting down trees, poaching is taking care of the Earth? Is this any what fair? Everyone says they care about Earth but I challenge you to show me. Right now I’m assuming you don’t care one bit but please, show me, show me that I’m wrong. Show me that you DO care for the environment. I challenge you to. If what’s happening in front of our eyes around the world doesn’t make you feel guilty, I’m sorry to hear that. If the beggars on the street that cry for their dear life, the animals that are dying having no place to go, the plants that are turning sick and yellow day by day don’t have any affect on you, then I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that you don’t care. If you don’t want to participate or make any contributions to the environment then for goodness’ sake! Please, PLEASE stop harming it. It’s the least you can do.
Ideas:
There are probably many excuses like “the population has grown so more construction will be forced to occur which makes the Earth crowded...”
No lock comes without a key, so why should this problem come with out an answer? Many people have suggested the idea to educate the illiterate. It’s a wonderful suggestion but PUT IT IN ACTION! You can tell me “I know how to do this and that” but I wont believe you unless you show it to me! So please, show me and do something about it. Make your actions reflect your words. Have you heard the saying “Easy said. Easy done”? Right now it’s easy said and after easy done there’s an enormous question mark.
Now if you really want a big solution, I’m sure you can find that too, after all, where there is a will there’s a way. For ex. All these latest types of technology is coming out like a new version ipod, a real cool phone, touch screen computers etc. etc. These inventions are very smart and pretty hard to make but have you ever thought if the same people who are smart enough to make these awesome inventions put their heads together and do something which helps the environment? I mean you people are very smart. You know the do’s and don’ts. You KNOW you can do it..just give it a shot. Maybe all these great car inventors could make a type of car that doesn’t pollute at all and runs on something other than petrol? Instead of making the latest stylish car, you can make an eco-friendly one! I’m just a kid and these are my ideas but I’m sure if you great manufacturers, inventors put on your thinking hat, you’ll find a wonderful idea that would benefit everyone and Mother Earth. All I’m saying is, start doing it. TRY ATLEAST!!
Lessons from Kindergarten:
I am very lucky to be what I am and understand what’s happening to our world unlike the children on the streets that HAVE no idea. Recently, ECHO, the environmental children organization interviewed a beggar on the street. This is what he said, “I wish I was rich, and if I was, I would give money and food to the people on the street.” If this child who has nothing is willing to give everything then why are we who have everything so selfish and greedy? Why can’t you try and help? Ever since I was young and in Kindergarten, we followed and respected many rules like we shouldn’t fight always share, never hurt any plant or animal. The way things are going, it seems as if everyone needs to repeat their junior years. Don’t’ fight huh? I always knew war as one word BAD. When you see 2 children fighting they are separated and the teacher tells them to talk it out and they end up being friends. Doesn’t the same rule still apply? No matter how life passes we all know that war is bad. Instead of using the money on war why not use it on something useful? There are so many wise thoughts like UNITED WE STAND, DIVERSE WE FALL. Is this thought being put to use in real life?
Another very important rule is to share with EVERYBODY. It doesn’t mean to walk pass the starving people without a second glance. No. Share with them, give them a doze of the life we are all living. You have nothing lose, you just gain more love. Don’t you want them to feel a deep sense of gratitude for you? You loose nothing but gain something, and who knows, later in your life they might help you. Even if they don’t, why don’t you want to give away part of your wealth to those who have none? Will the Earth fall apart when you give away a bit? Please, if you have valid explanations give them to me, because you and I both don’t know how hard and how much you struggle to stand in a poor persons’ place. Someone told me that man is the cruelest being on Earth. I didn’t believe till maybe know. I couldn’t believe when I saw people could actually walk pass the poor without a second thought about poverty and sharing. I am ashamed to see these people who don’t care one bit. We are all God’s children so why not treat everyone equally? So please, if you have some amount of concern for them, their struggles, cries and the teardrops that run down their cheeks everyday, please try and help them. It could mean the world to them. And it would be amazing if you could help. After all, one life can make a difference.
What are your Priorities?:
Government, politicians. Are we even ON YOUR LIST OF PRIORITIES? Do you CARE about what might happen to the poor families? Do you even care about what will happen to our future? You say you love us, say that when we grow up we’ll do whatever we wanted just needed is hard work. But I challenge YOU/ I challenge you to make sure what you said happens. I challenge you to treat all equally. I challenge you to make the kids who are afraid to go in the sun as it may hurt them, not be afraid. Can you do that? And please, if you can’t don’t make the problem any what worse.
Look and Think before you leap:
By writing this speech, I’m not helping Earth be a better place either. All I am trying to do is open your eyes and make you aware of what’s happening. So please, look at this world now. Every second that passes by makes a difference and yet we act as if we have all the time in this world. Please, I can’t do much being a kid, but you adults CAN. The Government can, but if the whole world doesn’t try, we can’t and won’t get anywhere. What you do makes me cry at night. I don’t want to. I want to smile and be proud of this world, the people...so if you can, at least try, it would mean the world to me.
This is all I have to say. So please think twice and then act. If you still don’t care, then at least consider the fact that my future, your future, the next generations’ future might be destroyed. At least consider that all our feelings are sealed in this piece of paper. If whatever I have said still doesn’t add a drop of concern in you, all I can say is that I have done my best.
